Pickford Film Center Announces
Suspension of Public Events

Acting on the recommendation of the Washington State Health Department, Governor Inslee and Mayor Fleetwood the Pickford Film Center and Limelight Cinema will suspend programming for the forseeable future. As we accumulate more information those dates may be extended.

This decision has not been made lightly and takes into consideration our duty to try and keep our staff, volunteers, membership, audience and the greater community safe. Even though we have instituted all recommended sanitary measures, our proximity to each other, sharing space in the cinema and the lobby, does not allow enough distance to keep us protected. Social distancing is one of the few methods proven to slow an epidemic. It is better for us to start that now than wait until there are more cases in Whatcom County.

Pickford Film Center is fortunate that we have the support of our membership and donors and are able to continue to pay our cinema staff during closure.

If you have purchased an online ticket to an upcoming show you will receive an automatic refund. If you have any more questions, please email us at info@pickfordfilmcenter.org. We encourage you to keep your membership up-to-date and consider donating to help us stay stable in this uncertain time. Updates will be available on our website and in our email communication.

If you are able, please consider donating to organizations dealing directly with aid to those most impacted by the coronavirus such as Bellingham Public Schools Foundation, Northwest Youth Services, and the Opportunity Council.

We are ever grateful to our community – volunteers, staff, members, board members, audience, vendors and our many partners – and look forward to seeing everyone again when we reopen.
