A crew aboard the spaceship Icarus II is tasked with delivering a massive nuclear device to reignite the Sun. Along the journey, they encounter psychological strain, equipment failure, and the wreckage of a previous mission. Tensions rise as crew members confront fear, isolation, and ethical dilemmas, culminating in desperate measures to complete the mission. From writer Alex Garland and Academy Award winning director, Danny Boyle, and featuring an international cast including Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, Michelle Yeoh, Cliff Curtin, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Mark Strong, Sunshine combines science fiction, psychological tension, and visual spectacle to explore human survival in the most extreme circumstances.
