Pedro Santana is a dedicated educator from the South Bronx. His career began as a classroom teacher, but his highly successful personal style took him to become one of the most effective rising administrators in the New York Public School system. His extremely personal ‘out of the box’ approach with students turned several troubled schools around. Typical for the humble Pedro, he gives all the credit for his accomplishments to the tireless teacher he had for 3rd grade. Watch as the optimistic, deeply caring educator is lured to work his magic in a suburban system and faces a confounding and unbelievable political foe in the fight for education and access for all children. This uplifting doc explores what public education means to Santana and the profound importance of individual teachers.
