Volunteering for Pickford Film Center
As the only independent cinema in Bellingham, the Pickford Film Center could not operate without our dedicated volunteers. We are proud to have a team of hardworking, film-loving individuals who bring vibrance to our theater. From slingin’ the best popcorn in town, to ensuring the theaters are fresh and comfortable for each audience, our volunteers are integral to presenting the best possible film experience for all. PFC thanks each and every one of our volunteers for the time they donate to making our organization run.
Volunteering at the Pickford has been a great way to get involved in the closely-knit community of downtown Bellingham. The broad spectrum of films offered at the Pickford is bested only by its very knowledgeable staff and volunteers who show a true passion for all kinds of film. It has been an amazing experience watching the community support for PFC, and I am grateful to have been even a small part of that.
Volunteering at the PFC is all about the people–the staff, the other volunteers, and most importantly, our customers. I look forward to each shift for the fun, camaraderie, and opportunity to contribute to the PFC’s mission to bring the best in film to Bellingham and Whatcom County.
Becoming a volunteer at the Pickford Theater has become a bright spot in my weekly schedule. The theater runs so smoothly with all the wonderful staff members, and an array of interesting and talented volunteers! A community gem.

The Pickford is always open to new volunteers, though our needs vary. Generally, volunteers are asked to work behind the counter. This involves working the cash register, serving popcorn, and pouring drinks. In return, volunteers get a free movie pass for each shift worked. Oh and did we mention the unlimited popcorn?! If interested, fill out an application here. You can also print a copy of the volunteer application and drop it off at the Pickford.
