Part Time Janitor Job Description Feb. 2023 Position Summary: The janitor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the cinema, lobby, and bathroom spaces before the cinema opens each day. This position is largely independent and the work is done outside of our normal operating hours at times determined by the employee. This is a part-time position, 3-4 days/week, totaling 10-15 hours/week starting at $16.95/hr. Pickford Film Center is an equal opportunity employer. Individuals from all cultures and communities are encouraged to apply. Roles and Responsibilities: Maintains auditorium cleanliness: Garbage, recycling, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors. Responsible for Bathroom Cleaning: Toilets, sinks, paper dispensers, garbage, mirrors, and floors. Overall daily cleaning of lobby area, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, garbage removal. Weekly cleaning of office spaces: Garbage, recycling, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors. Maintains stock of janitorial supplies and places orders as needed. Other odd cleaning jobs as necessary. Maintains communication about condition of entire cinema with Staff & Facilities Managers. Requirements: Ability to safely lift 40 lbs. Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the “big picture” of how our space is perceived in terms of how clean it is. Familiarity with cleaning products and best practices for their use. Preferred Qualifications 1 year janitorial experience Salary: This is a part-time position compensated at $16.95/hr. While we cannot offer health or PTO benefits at this level, this position will include free movies & popcorn, discounts on concessions, and a tight-knit, collegial work environment.
